Restoring and renovating a historic building involves, above all, monitoring the quality of works in line with the spirit of the project and the previous use of the building.
For those involved in restoration works, it is a double challenge that allows expertise and knowledge to be fully used.
The former Consorzio Agrario (Agricultural Consortium) of Dolo belongs to the urban centre in structural and functional terms, therefore the redevelopment of the entire complex involved planning, building and environmental aspects.
First and foremost, the renovation of this historic building overlooking the Naviglio Brenta river, was part of an overall renovation scheme for a property complex of about 4,500 square metres: in addition to the conservative restoration and renovation works, two new buildings were constructed for mixed business and residential use.
We also created an underground car park with 72 garages and established a road system and pedestrian walkways. At ground level, where items for agricultural production were once stored and sold, we built a square with 44 external parking spaces for the public to ensure easier access to the area.
